Family Interventions
Intervening to save a loved one
People with addictions often fail to seek help because they’re still denying they have a problem. But confronting the issue through an intervention can help your loved one realize it truly is time to seek help. Bellwood can help you prepare for a successful intervention.
What is an intervention?
An intervention is a loving process where a trained counsellor leads a group of family, friends or co-workers as they confront and try to motivate the addicted person to seek help. Intervening at an early stage can help curtail the addiction to motivate your loved one before it gets worse, improving your family’s chances for recovery. Families play an important role in interventions since they are usually aware of a substance abuse problem long before anyone else.
