Assessment Tools
According to the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, close to 14 per cent of Canadians 15 years and older are high-risk drinkers while about 15 per cent have used illicit drugs (Health Canada Canadian Addiction Survey, November 2004). Bellwood’s medical team has developed a valuable reference guide to help you identify and treat patients whose alcohol and drug use may be of concern. This handy guide includes screening tools, worksheets, drug effect and withdrawal information, and treatment resources.
Training and education
Bellwood offers education and training seminars for healthcare professionals who want to learn more about substance abuse and other behavioural health problems. Our seminars are designed to help you identify addiction problems and refer patients for appropriate help and support. We also offer information sessions about Bellwood, our programs and services, and how we can help you provide the best care possible for your patients.
