Recovery Status and Number of Regular Supports Used

High recovery: either abstinent or highly improved (clients generally have >95% reduction in alcohol and drug use)

Low recovery: moderately improved (< 95% reduction in substance use) or unimproved (still using alcohol and/or drugs hazardously)

Recovery status was significantly associated with aftercare attendance such that more aftercare support resulted in increased rates of high recovery.

A significant reduction in compulsive sexual behaviour was reported by Bellwood clients at 6-months follow-up, as measured by the Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Inventory (p<.01). At 6-months follow-up, clients reported having fewer problems controlling problematic sexual urges.

82% of employer-referred clients were in high recovery. Significant association between employer involvement and outcome such that those who are referred by their employer are more likely to be in high recovery compared to those who do not have employer involvement (p>.05)
